What to Expect in a Worship Service at MRC
Each Sunday at 10:00 am we gather together to worship as a community. Participants are invited to worship in ways that are natural for them, whether that means clapping, standing or sitting. This time together is characterized by a blend of contemporary and traditional elements, including music, liturgy, and teaching, all presented in a comfortable and casual way. Our services are led by our praise team and praise band.
Worship at MRC has a four part flow:
- Gathering - when we praise God for who He is and what He has done and confess our sins to Him. This time unites our spirits in God's presence and prepares us to hear the word of God.
- Hearing of God's Word - when we spend an extended period of time reflecting on God's word to hear what He has to say to us
(the sermon).
- Response - when we acknowledge that we have listened and heard what God has spoken through the Scriptures and sermon by offering
back an appropriate response. Once a month we use this time to partake in Communion.
- Sending - when we are given a blessing and a charge to do God's will as we go our separate ways.
* Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. Children ages 3 through 5th grade begin the service with their families and are dismissed for Worship and Wonder and Quest before the Sermon during the school year. Children ages 3 through Kindergarden continue to meet for Worship and Wonder duing the summer months.
We are currently reading "The Story" as a congregation and our worship services relflect this. The sermon is based each week on the current chapter, and our small groups are also meeting to discuss the book also.
